| Subject | `Re:` |
| Key Phrase | `"we can't make it into a real estate transcation... SIMPLE , healing nurturing, place for you to do your work"` [sic] |
This document is the "missing link" that explains why the funding became a "loan" for school fees rather than a business investment. Epstein explicitly rejects Reinaldo's previous pitch (from Aug 17) to find a commercial space in the City of London.
Epstein offers a clear binary choice:
"if you are to do osteop we shoud finalize. , if you want to do the center, you should find a place to RENT... and that only after agreeing in detail to sublease portions of it... so that they can help reduce your out of pocket." [sic]
He then immediately shoots down the "center" idea for him personally:
"I don't believe that any more than that will work in this enviomment SIMPLE , healing nurturing, place for you to do your work, no employees , we can't make it into a real estate transcation." [sic]Significance: Epstein refuses to be a landlord or commercial investor ("we can't make it into a real estate transaction"). He is willing to fund the person (tuition) but not the business risk* of a London commercial lease.
In the top email (Sept 1, 2009), Reinaldo capitulates to Epstein's terms:
"I contacted the fees office at the college to ask for an invoice... As far as my other expense is concerned as described in the attached document in this email, would it still be ok?"
This confirms Reinaldo accepted the "education" path ("Osteo expenses docx") and dropped the real estate pitch, leading directly to the £10,000 transfer on Sept 7.
great food for thought. ,
